Mr. Patrick Makokoro has extensive experience working with community development and relief projects in Zimbabwe, in partnership with both local and international non-governmental organizations. He is a dedicated child rights activist and passionate about social justice issues in Zimbabwe. His experience working with children at an orphanage in Zimbabwe’s Mashonaland West Province led him to establish the Nhaka Foundation, a charitable organization that provides education, meals, health care, counseling, and other essential services to orphaned and vulnerable children throughout Zimbabwe.
Beginning in 2012, he initiated conversations with other child service providers that led to the creation of the Zimbabwe Network of Early Childhood Development Actors (ZINECDA), a national umbrella organization for Early Childhood Development. Patrick Makokoro is also a Founding member of the African Early Childhood Network which is working to champion the developmental needs of young children in Africa. He has a BA degree in Community Development, Post Grad Diploma in Early Childhood Development and currently working on a Masters degree in Development Studies.
